Five Brevard High Schools Set To Compete In Quaker State ‘Best In Class Challenge’

The start of the new school year is around the corner and Space Coast high school auto shop students will be getting right to work.

Quaker State is back for a second year in the Brevard County and has selected five high schools as candidates for the “Best in Class Challenge,” an automotive education program that supports high school auto shop classes across the United States in their efforts to restore and customize a pre-owned cars into rides that truly represent their schools.
Schools selected include Satellite High School, Rockledge High School, Heritage High School, Titusville High School and Cocoa High School.

Last year, Satellite High brought home second place, taking home prizes and scholarship money for their school and had the opportunity to travel to Austin, Texas for a Mecum Auction where they received top dollar for their custom car.

Additionally, they secured extensive news coverage for their team and their school’s automotive program. The www.QuakerState.com voting page goes live in Sepetember and each school is tasked with securing as many votes as possible to become a finalist.

One school will then move on to participate in the 6-week competition against top schools from four other metropolitan areas including Northern New Jersey; Atlanta, Georgia; Charlotte, North Carolina; and Chicago, Illinois.
